The Boston Heart Foundation (BHF) is an independent, non-profit organization
dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular
disease through research, teaching, and patient care. Specialists in lipid
disorders, cardiology, cardiac radiology, pediatrics, medical engineering,
clinical and basic research are on the staff, and are affiliated with
Harvard Medical School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
and the Massachusetts General Hospital.
The BHF provides a supportive environment which encourages and facilitates
collaboration among physicians, biomedical engineers, basic scientists,
and students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The depth and breadth
of experience of the staff make possible the innovative and exciting work
which takes place under the auspices of the Foundation on many subjects
related to heart disease, high blood cholesterol, and arteriosclerosis.
